LOG CHARACTERISTICS
Very tall tree, reaching a height of 40-45 metres with a diameter at breast-height of 1.50 metres or more. The trucks are straight and regular, with considerable butt buttresses only found in the older trees.

The sapwood is easily attacked by fungi and insects (especially Lyctus). The heartwood on the other hand is quite durable.
