LOG CHARACTERISTICS
The tree reaches considerable dimensions: height from 30 to 45 metres, diameter at breast-height also exceeding 1.50 metres. The trunks are straight but not very regular in shape at the butt. The log is cylindrical over the grooves formed by small buttresses.

Colour: White-yellow sapwood, clearly differentiated from the brown-golden heartwood which sometimes tends to shinny olive-brown. Seasoning brings out yellow hues and variable dark brown tones in the heartwood;
